The leisure activities for kids were fantastic - they loved the playground and the entertainment in the basement. It kept them engaged and happy throughout our stay. The staff was also very helpful and friendly, which made our family experience even better.
My wife says that the bunk beds were a bit uncomfortable for the kids.

The dormitory room at Jugendherberge Berchtesgaden was cozy and comfortable, giving off a warm and homely vibe. The shared bathroom was clean and had a refreshing shower and a hairdryer. There was also a seating area in some units, which was a nice bonus. As a relaxed and easy-going traveler, I really enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere of the room.
For me, the only downside was the shared bathroom. Though it was clean and well-maintained, I personally prefer having a private bathroom.

The hotel was situated on the mountain, with a fantastic view of the surrounding area. the restaurant offered a great variety of dishes which we enjoyed. the breakfast buffet had a range of options to choose from, making it convenient for those in a hurry.
The check-in process was delayed and the staff was not very communicative.

What I liked about the hotel was the variety of people I met there, from families to solo travelers, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their time. that, the vegan options for breakfast were a pleasant surprise and made my morning enjoyable. the fact that you can travel for free with the regional buses is a plus, and it made it easy to explore different areas.
The Wi-Fi only works in the lobby, which was always crowded and noisy to hang out in. , the location was not ideal as it was a 30-minute walk to get to the town center, which made it hard to go out and explore late at night.

Enjoyed indoor table tennis, played at the high rope garden, tried my hand at archery and even had fun in the playground with a sandpit. So much entertainment!
Who needs accurate photos and descriptions anyway? So misleading!

Great value for money overall. Private transport recommended. The view is amazing, with a private balcony facing the mountain. The property was clean, with beautiful views. Enjoyed a rich buffet-style dinner and breakfast. Good location with amazing views of the Bavarian Alps.
The wifi is only available at the reception and there is no possibility to charge devices. The location is a bit outside the city, but still within walkable distance.

Despite some negative aspects, I have to admit that my Thanksgiving stay had some positive aspects. the complementary breakfast spread was really delicious and filling, and the staff was friendly and helpful. the rooms have a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Worst aspects: I must say I was disappointed with the fact that the bathrooms were not cleaned properly. the tables in the breakfast area were also not cleaned to acceptable standards. it was a lackluster experience and I wouldn't recommend it to others.

I recently stayed at Jugendherberge in Berchtesgaden for a few nights and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The hotel offers stunning views of the mountains, and the indoor facilities are top-notch. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly surprised to find vegan options available. The staff was incredibly friendly and the entire facility was spotlessly clean. One of the best things about the hotel is that they provide a free bus card, allowing guests to easily explore the town using the regional buses. it was a great environment with a mix of people including solo hikers, families, and teenagers.
I do recommend this hotel.
